Welcome and thank you for participating in this survey.
This research is being conducted by researchers at Cambridge Judge Business School and the Behavioural Insights Team to better understand how you use online food delivery platforms (e.g. Deliveroo, UberEat, JustEat, etc.) and what you think about these services.
Task: In this study, we will ask you to place a food order on our online food delivery platform. We will also ask you some general questions on your thoughts and experiences with food delivery services.
Meal prize draw: For some of you (1 in 30), the order you place on the platform will actually be delivered to your home at a date and time preferred by you. Winners will be randomly selected at the end of the survey. If you are selected, we will ask you for your name and address so that we can process your order. If you prefer not to share your contact details, you may simply respond when prompted by the survey that you do not wish to accept the prize.
Duration: The survey should take about 8 minutes to complete and requires your attention, so please only participate if you can dedicate this time!

The Online Food Delivery Purchasing Study
PARTICIPANT INFORMATION SHEET
Ethics Approval Reference: 22-39
Study information
The aim of this study is to study food purchasing on online food delivery platforms. You have been invited to take part because you are aged 18 and over and have previously used online delivery platforms.
This study contains a short survey where we will ask you some questions about yourself and your food consumer behaviour and attitudes to purchase food online. You will then be asked to order food for dinner. Note that for some of you this order will have real consequences, as every 30th participant will actually receive the ordered food which will be delivered to their homes. In total, we expect 4000 participants to complete this study.
No background knowledge is required to complete the study. The study will take about 5-10 minutes to complete.
Do I have to take part?
No, your participation is voluntary. If you do decide to take part, you may withdraw at any point during the questionnaire for any reason by closing the browser. However, you will only be compensated by your panel provider if you complete the survey.
If you decide to withdraw during the study, your data will not be analysed for the study. Because we do not collect your name, we cannot identify your data after you have taken part, so if you choose to withdraw after completing the study, we will not be able to exclude your data.
How will my data be used?
By default, we will not collect any data that could directly identify you. Only if you are selected to receive the meal you ordered, will we ask you to provide your name and address details (including email address), used solely for the purpose of placing your order. All research data and records will be stored for at least ten years after publication or public release of the research and reviewed thereafter. The University of Cambridge is the data owner.
Who will have access to my data?
We would like your permission to use and share the data of this study for scientific studies. Responsible members of the University of Cambridge and the social purpose company the Behavioural Insights Team may be given access to anonymised data collected during the survey and choice task for monitoring and/or audit of the study to ensure we are complying with guidelines, or as otherwise required by law. Personally identifiable data collected at the end of the survey for winners of meal prize draw will only be accessed by members of the research team of the University of Cambridge for the purpose of ordering meals.
