Welcome, and thank you for your interest in this study, which is being run by Predictiv on behalf of Defra.

Your task: We will ask you to imagine that you’re attending a cattle auction. We will first ask you how much you would bid on each of the cattle on offer and then ask some additional questions about your decisions. Note that this is a simulation — the cattle are not actually for sale and all the names of farmers, farms and so on are fictional.

Duration: The study should take about 10 minutes to complete and requires your attention, so please only participate if you can dedicate this time.

Your contribution: For every completion, we will donate £1.50 to the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution, to help support farmers who are experiencing hardship.

Data security: Any data collected as a part of this study will be kept secure and not shared with third parties. When we publish the results of this research, we won’t name any of the participants or publish any data that would allow you to be identified.
